Case Data

November 21, 1973 Niceville, Okaloosa County, Florida On November 21, 1973, Theresa Carol Dusevitch, 19 year old white female, was shot to death and dumped in a wooded area of the Eglin Air Force Base (EAFB), northeast of Niceville. Ms. Dusevitch was known to hitchhike, and lived in Valparaiso. The firearm used in her murder was tied to another incident in Shalimar, Florida where a 15 year old white female was shot in the hip, in May 1974. The 15 year old accepted a ride from a stranger and when he produced a handgun she attempted to jump from the vehicle. The bullet from that incident, and the bullet from Ms. Dusevitch’s body were matched by the FDLE Crime Lab. The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), are investigating the murder. Anyone with information, please call Investigator Samatha Schill, OCSO, at (850) 609-2003, or Special Agent (SA) Kenny Pinkard, FDLE, (800)226-8574 or email kennypinkard@fdle.state.fl.us
