Agency: Pinellas Park Police Department Case #: 1999-30232 Location: 5461 – 65 Avenue North Pinellas Park, FL Date/Time: December 26, 1999, between 3:30am & 7:02am Victim: Jones, Brannon Lee; W/M, DOB 04/09/82 Synopsis: On December 26, 1999 Pinellas Park Fire Department units responded to the address of 5461 – 65 Avenue in reference to a vehicle fire. Fire units arrived on scene at approximately 7:09am and discovered the victim later identified as Brannon Lee Jones badly burned inside of the vehicle. The initial results of the autopsy were that Jones died prior to the vehicle fire, and it was believed that Jones death was suicide. On March 28, 2000 the medical examiner’s office reviewed the case and indications of blunt trauma were found at which time Jones death was reclassified as a homicide. The night prior to the homicide Jones had been hanging out with friends, drinking alcohol and walking the local streets in the area of his residence. The Pinellas Park Police Department is asking for assistance from anyone who has information related to this case.
